Bubblegum Lip Scrub Review

I have decided to do another Lush Review‘ for you and thought I should talk about a very different, quite unusual product 🙂 Lush’s lip scrubs are truly something special and unlike anything I have seen in other stores. Available in bubblegum, popcorn, chocolate, mint julips and honey, each of Lush’s sugar lip scrubs are as sweet as you think. I hope you enjoy it and please let me know what you think of the product. As usual, here’s the product information from Lush’s Website;

Cost & Weight – AU $9.95 for a jar of 25 grams.

Ingredients – Caster Sugar, Organic Jojoba Oil, Alpha Isomethyl Ionone, Flavour, Colour 45410 and Colour 45380.

Scent – the sweetest, most ‘pink’, bubble gum scent you could ever imagine.

“Prep your lips with a buff and polish at the start of your make-up routine to ensure your lipstick glides on and stays put. Just apply with a clean finger, and let the exfoliating caster sugar and softening jojoba oil scrub away dead skin and infuse moisture to rejuvenate your smile. Bubblegum lip scrub won’t leave any greasy residue; just a sweet candy taste that you’ll enjoy licking off. Lip-smackingly good.”

If you have never seen Lush’s lip scrubs, you may be wondering what they’re for and how to use them. They are basically a sweet smelling, sugary substance with a rough consistency that you scoop onto your lips and rub to exfoliate, smooth and remove dead skin. After exfoliating, you lick the flavoured scrub off your lips to reveal silky smooth lips and finish with a lip balm. The bubblegum flavour smells and tastes delicious to me but I know so many people who absolutely hate it because it’s so overpowering. You have to be a real sweet tooth to enjoy using these scrubs.

Pros of this product include the smell and taste, flavour range and uniqueness of the product as I love trying new things.

A con is that the scent can be overpowering to some and that the product is a bit gimmicky considering the price. You don’t necessarily ‘need’ to exfoliate your lips and I wouldn’t repurchase the product just because it’s good to try but isn’t a key part of lip care, however, I do think it makes a great gift.

Overall, I love the unique idea of a lip scrub and it smelt amazing but it’s a bit gimmicky and not worth the price for the quantity you get in my opinion. Let me know if you want me to do a DIY on this product because I’m sure you could make you own for much cheaper 🙂

Rating – 🙂 🙂 🙂 , I would have liked to be getting a larger jar for the price paid and although the product is very ‘fun’, it’s not so practical.

I hope you enjoyed the second edition to my ‘Lush Reviews‘ category. Love you all and keep a look out for more reviews like this.
